Gelson’s is a boutique grocer providing premium groceries in the Los Angeles, California area. There were a sequence of events with extremely high site traffic and outages during COVID-19 lockdowns that influenced the client to rebuild their “meals to go” cart feature and move the site to the Craft CMS that allowed for them to more easily update daily meal offerings and virtual tasting community events. The user experience and design needed to accurately reflect their truly immersive in-store shopping experience. The website, like the physical store, needed to be defined by the look of each department. They take a lot of pride in their organization and presentation of their product selections and are split up by definitive departments to provide the shopper with a positive, efficient, and smooth shopping journey.
